LANDSCAPE DESIGN STUDIO
TERMS & CONDITIONS
LANDSCAPE WITH A SOUL.
Every ShuiScapes project is a custom creative commission.
My landscapes are not created from templates or reproduced from previous projects. Each environment is individually researched, conceptualized and designed around the land, architecture, atmosphere and vision of the client.
By commissioning ShuiScapes, you acknowledge and agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
01 — BEFORE WE BEGIN
Please commission ShuiScapes only if you are comfortable allowing the creative process the time and freedom it requires.
I do not rush projects.
A beautiful landscape is more than placing trees, plants and objects around a property. I design complete environments with composition, atmosphere, scale, movement, realism and emotion in mind.
Your references and wishes establish the direction.
The final artistic interpretation remains ShuiScapes'.
02 — PROJECT REQUIREMENTS
Before work can begin, the client must provide:
• The correct Second Life landmark to the property
• Rez/build permissions
• Edit rights when required
• Estate Manager rights for Homesteads or Full Regions when required
• The appropriate land/group permissions
• A clear written project brief
• Up to 3 real-life reference images, when applicable
The land should be prepared for construction before the scheduled project begins.
For residential projects, the main house/building may remain rezzed when the landscape is being designed around it.
Additional existing objects should be discussed before the project begins.
03 — DESIGN & CREATIVE PROCESS
Before construction begins, I take time to study the property, architecture, references and requested atmosphere.
Research and conceptual development are part of the project.
For this reason, the scheduled start of a project does not necessarily mean landscaping begins immediately on that day.
I first determine the design direction and select the elements required to create a cohesive environment.
Once I am confident in the concept, construction begins.
Creativity cannot be rushed.
04 — PROJECT ACCESS
During the active design and construction period, I ask clients to allow me to work privately.
Constant visits, observation or interruptions can interfere with the creative process.
Progress previews may be provided when appropriate, but ShuiScapes does not operate as a live collaborative building session.
You hired me because you trust my work.
Please give me the space to create it.
05 — PROJECT TIMELINE
Every project is different.
As a general guideline:
Concept & Design Development
Approximately 7–10 business days.
Landscape Creation
Approximately 2–4 weeks for a standard project.
Large regions, highly detailed environments, commercial projects or complex custom landscapes may require additional time.
All timelines are estimates rather than guaranteed completion dates.
Delays caused by unavailable land access, permission problems, client changes, Second Life technical issues or circumstances outside ShuiScapes' control may extend the completion date.
06 — WORKING HOURS
ShuiScapes operates primarily:
Monday – Friday
Weekends are generally reserved as non-working days.
Messages received outside working periods may be answered on the next available business day.
07 — REVISIONS
A commissioned landscape is based on the approved brief, references and design direction discussed before the project begins.
Reasonable adjustments necessary to complete the original vision may be accommodated.
However, a revision is not a redesign.
Major changes to the concept, style, architecture, layout or project requirements after work has begun may require:
• Additional design fees
• Additional landscaping budget
• Additional completion time
Requests outside the original agreed scope will be treated as additional work.
08 — LANDSCAPING ITEMS & BUDGET
The project fee covers the professional landscape design service unless otherwise specifically agreed.
Any additional Second Life products required for the project—including landscaping, décor, structures, plants, trees, rocks, terrain elements, lighting or other assets—may require a separate purchasing budget.
Where possible, I select items according to the project's visual direction, quality requirements and agreed budget.
Third-party products remain subject to the permissions and terms established by their original creators.
09 — CLIENT CHANGES DURING CONSTRUCTION
Please do not move, delete, replace or modify elements of the landscape while the project is actively being created unless we have discussed it first.
Changes made by the client during construction can disrupt the design and may affect the completion schedule.
If substantial work must be recreated because the client altered or removed completed elements, additional fees may apply.
10 — PROJECT COMPLETION
A project is considered complete once the agreed landscape scope has been delivered and the final adjustments have been made.
After completion, responsibility for maintaining, modifying or removing the landscape transfers to the client.
Future redesigns, seasonal transformations, expansions or substantial modifications are considered new work and may require a separate commission.
11 — CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS
Because every ShuiScapes project reserves studio time and involves research, planning and creative development:
All payments are non-refundable once the project has been accepted and work has begun.
A refund will only be issued if ShuiScapes cancels the project and is unable to complete the commissioned work.
Client cancellation, change of mind, failure to provide access or abandonment of the project does not automatically qualify for a refund.
12 — PROJECT INACTIVITY
Communication is essential.
If required information, permissions or decisions from the client are unavailable for an extended period, the project may be placed on hold.
The original completion schedule may then no longer apply.
Projects abandoned by the client for an extended period may require rescheduling according to ShuiScapes' current availability.
13 — PORTFOLIO & PHOTOGRAPHY
ShuiScapes reserves the right to photograph completed landscape work for portfolio, website and social media presentation.
These images are intended to showcase the landscape design and ShuiScapes' creative work.
If a project requires confidentiality or should not be publicly presented, this must be discussed before the project begins.
14 — ARTISTIC INTEGRITY
Reference photographs are used for inspiration and visual direction.
They are not promises of an exact reproduction.
Second Life has its own scale, terrain, lighting, technical limitations and available content. Designs will therefore be interpreted in a way that works naturally within the virtual environment.
I will never knowingly reproduce another Second Life landscaper's work.
Every ShuiScapes landscape is created through my own artistic interpretation.

THE SHUISCAPES PHILOSOPHY
For me, landscape design has never been about simply placing beautiful objects together.
It is about creating a place with a soul.
A landscape should make you feel something when you enter it. It should tell its own story through nature, architecture, light, atmosphere and detail.
That is the standard I bring to every project.
I put my creativity, experience, heart and soul into every environment I create.
You bring me your vision.
I create the world around it.
Thank you for trusting ShuiScapes with your project.
